چکیده

A method for the generation of discretedomain two-dimensional (2-D) transfer functions possessing variable magnitude and contour characteristics is presented in this paper. The proposed method is based upon a configuration constituted by two 1-D filters in cascade and a feedback loop. Each of these 1-D filter is designed to have a monotonic magnitude frequency response. This is obtained by performing one or several integrations, either with respect to ω or ω, of the denominator of a magnitude Butterworth low-pass frequency response and obtaining the corresponding modified transfer function. The variable characteristics in each domain are obtained by changing a multiplier either in the forward path or in the feedback path of the proposed general configuration. The use of a generalized bilinear transformation (GBT) on the transfer functions obtained by the above mentioned method permits the generation of a large number of different characteristics. A certain number of these characteristics is examined in some detail. Illustrative examples are provided.

Design of Two-Dimensional Digital Filters Having Variable Monotonic Amplitude-Frequency Responses Using Darlington-type Gyrator Networks

This paper develops a design of two-dimensional (2D) digital filter with monotonic amplitude-frequency responses using Darlington-type gyrator networks by the application of Generalized Bilinear Transformation (GBT). The proposed design provides the stable monotonic amplitude-frequency responses and the desired cutoff frequency of the 2D digital filters. This 2D recursive digital filter design ...

Realization of high accuracy 2-D variable IIR digital filters based on the reduced-dimensional decomposition form

This paper proposes a realization method of high accuracy 2-D variable IIR digital filters with real coefficients. The proposed method uses the reduced-dimensional decomposition form as a prototype structure of 2-D variable digital filters to suppress the degradation of tuning accuracy due to the linear approximation of variable coefficients. Furthermore, the 1-D subfilters of the prototype fil...

Weighted Least-Squares Method for Designing Variable Fractional Delay 2-D FIR Digital Filters

This paper proposes a closed-form weighted least-squares solution for designing variable two-dimensional (2-D) finite-impulse response (FIR) digital filters with continuously variable 2-D fractional delay responses. First, the coefficients of the variable 2-D transfer function are represented by using the polynomials of a pair of fractional delays ( 1 2). Then the weighted squared-error functio...

Stabilization of 2D NSHP Recursive Digital Filters with Guaranteed Stability Using PLSI Polynomials

Two-dimensional digital filters have gained wide acceptance in recent years. For recursive filters, nonsymmetric half-plane versions (also known as semicausal) are more general than quarter-plane versions (also known as causal) in approximating arbitrary magnitude characteristics. The major problem in designing two-dimensional recursive filters is to guarantee their stability with the expected ...

Special Structure for Designing Low-Complexity 2-D Half-Band Filters

This paper presents a special structure for designing low-complexity two-dimensional (2-D) half-band digital filter with very sharp transition band. Performing the singular-valuedecomposition (SVD) of zero-phase half-band frequency response generates a set of one-dimensional (1-D) frequency responses which can be approximated using the cascade of a half-advance digital filter and a set of 1-D f...
